That's a surprise - during the Libya coverage, and for many past events they wouldn't normally take the 6 - I hope World News Today will still be on soon.

CNN are going with the IDESK but are in an Obama press conference now.

Just goes to show how an international broadcaster's home events shape their international news programming. Today, the UK has had no mention of the Casey Anthony Trial, for example.

Sky covered the verdict and went live to the court for a short time, but understandably the NOTW story took over. Not sure what the BBC did.

This story received quite a bit of NBC coverage, with reports from NBC's team in London on TODAY and Nightly News and at least mentions on MSNBC. Be interesting to see how high up the pecking order it is tonight.

Is FOX News so keen on it?

And could it end up being the perfect excuse to close Sky News should this story begin to implicate other areas of News International.

BBC News reporting that a number of Sunday Sun related URLs were registered two days ago.

Well given that the Sunday Sun already exists I hope NCJ Media are getting their lawyers on the ready.

I for one will be decidedly unhappy at a long-established regional product being forced off the shelves by that cnut Murdoch...

Of course if The Mirror want to be really naughty they'll use the trademark and get a national "Sunday Sun" out for a few weeks when News International decide to release their "Sun on Sunday" or whatever.

Why would the NOTW closure impact on Sky News? From what's been said by some former NOTW employees tonight, the idea of closing the paper down and making the Sun a 7-day paper has been in the pipeline for a while now. It seems like they've just pushed through the closure now, using the hacking scandal as cover for something that is actually a financial decision.
