What rubbish - nobody here cared about her until she was axed. To most people she's in the same league in Trevor McDonald - i.e. should have been retired long ago and more likely to put them off watching a bulletin than encourage them too.


Here, here! I prefer Moira to Trevor (has he ever presented without an autocue - and why he received a knighthood, I don't know!) but I can't/couldn't watch either.

Overall, News at Ten still isn't as good as the BBC, and those titles were a bit tacky (they seem to be trying too hard).

The BBC Ten o'Clock News with Huw Edwards and Moira Stuart I just cannot see it.

The reason Trev is still credited now is that he is a journalist, alas that is why Moira was axed and to be honest that is why the BBC remains unscathed, as if Natasha was still with BBC News - it would raise questions over why she was still employed if that is their policy!

Because she is a qualified journalist. It's since then that she's gone on to do presenting etc.

The early series ran for just the hour, even for evictions - but it was probably moved to 10.30pm on the final night, which IIRC was a Monday back in the early series.


Lately though it's ended on Friday's so that wouldn't be too much of an issue.

I was always under the impression she was not a qualified journalist. Did she study after university then?

Not sure but it just goes to show how this whole 'has to be a qualified journalist' thing is completely fictitious - Moiras so much better than the likes of Kaplinsky (though that Sian Williams Laughing)

Even Fiona Phillips is a qualified journalist. Good journalism doesn't necessarily equal a good presenter.

I agree but it is the credibility thing isn't it. The BBC seem to think it is important don't they and I think I am correct in saying that ITV are as well. I aint sure about Sky News though?

At least they're sticking with the blue version of the ITN endcap rather than one of those awful other psychedelically flavoured ones.
