It was very predictable when they show the LIVE graphics, and when it's a really long place name, they squash it in - so unprofessional.

They could have made more epic and rich music, and much better graphics, at least a change.

The reports were better, but lacking that detail and ease that BBC News has. As with many other people, I will certainly go back to BBC News for a better, more comprehensive and easy-viewing news bulletin.

It really wasn't living up to my expectations!

Shame they didn't do the papers, but overall I really liked the programme. I did feel Julie had less stories to read than Trevor, but ITV are obviously going to show him off more (don't know why, Julie was much better tonight) but the graphics are really good, never thought ITV would pull off something like that.

We still have to see Julie with her touchscreen Wink

ITV1 running over 5 minutes late then, as usual after the news.

Why don't they give it the whole 22:00-22:40 slot, just like pre-1999?

They give it a 40 minute billing on Fridays - why not the other days?

Ridiculous that the 10.35 show should start so much later than billed.

Why not have a studio solely for the News at Ten? Presently, Julie and Trevor appear to be surrounded by some sort of inter-galactic lake of tar.

Or, indeed, why have a studio solely for the News at Ten?

Off topic, but ITV1 just promoted the film Open Water with ident music playing. Is this normal? The music got cut off when they went to a break. I assume it was a mistake.

What a messy bulletin. Too many swipes to the logo, too much music punctuation, not a fan, hopefully in the coming weeks, they will settle down the bulletin and make it more streamlined and neat.

Yes whilst that is great - 10 minutes of regional news - they shouldn't use a NEXT slide with 10.35 stated when it's already 10.40!!

Excellent return for News at Ten.

It has certainly set itself a high benchmark for the future. It'll be interesting to see what other exclusives they have. Julie mentioned in her Mail on Sunday article that she had filmed a special interview last Friday.

There's something special about the NaT brand. From the titles to the end, it draws you in and brings you the day's stories in a excellent way. We have 24 hour news on all day at work and unlike BBC's 10 o' clock news or the old News at 10:30, I would definitely watch NaT of an evening.

The half-hearted ITV News at Ten a few years ago was poor but on tonight's performance, the bongs are back and long may they stay.

Not liking the constant shot of the 'glass' logo panel.

Nor me - don't they have something similar on Watchdog?

I also seem to be in the minority because I like the opening sequence music but not the overly dramatic piece played after the headlines.

Generally it went well though I do think Sir Trevor's experience shows in his delivery (I'll forgive him a couple of glances at the wrong camera). Julie delivers her lines in a far too measured way that took me right back to her Newsround days, hopefully she'll improve once the initial nerves have passed.(She's also not at all comfortable with the two-person shots when not speaking so keeping those to a minimum was a wise move).

p.s. I like the closing music.

I don't like the CGI Big Ben tower either, it's tacky.
