It was just the other sting cut down slightly. The composers will have recorded various different stings, stabs and beds for use on the programme. I'm not surprised it sounded like the 1999 music, as that was based on NAT's music in the first place.
I'm aware of that... it just didn't sound like the other sting. Though it most probably was a shortened-down version, come to think of it.

Not sure if anyone else watched the trailer for NaT at the end of tonight's Evening News. The sting that played at the end was different to the one that has been doing the rounds on other promos; though it was rather brief, it sounded similar to the 1999-2004 themes.

Exactly - never understood the theory people will wait till late evening for the news. By that time of night I certainly want something a bit more enjoyable to watch.
Anyhow, the BBC have shot themselves in the foot today with their desperate plugging of the Ten o'clock News - what happened to letting the journalism doing the talking?
The return of News at Ten is a news story, and the day's top media story. Another BBC Ten o'clock News isn't!
Looks like tonight's programmes will see the programme editors setting the news agendas with their "special" reports, rather than actually leaving it to the "news" to fill the programme.

Think the majority of people are at home and settled in by that time. Am I the only one thinking that the BBC might react by putting there news back to The 9 O Clock News again?
