Why do a lot of the press keep saying that its been around 9 years since the last News At Ten, they did bring it back in 2001, albeit different, but the name was still back and Trev.

I guess that's the era ITV want people to forget (let's face it - was a bit of an embarrassment), and as you say, the press seem to be largely failing to mention it. Clever marketing really - ITV have hyped it up so much, that the previous failed attempt at bringing it back has been pretty successfully swept under the carpet.

Yea i guess so, its still inaccuracy in any part, or maybe im just being a bit picky.

The full page advert in the Mail on Sunday looks good.

Looks like an ad for a movie but none-the-less is striking and does exactly what an ad should do.

I've just heard an ad for News at Ten on Virgin Radio. The theme actually sounded quite a bit better on there. I wonder if the version we've been hearing is an early one. I certainly hope so.

From what I've heard, the music has been back and forth for re-recordings and tweaks over the last few weeks. I expect the actual theme may differ slightly from the promos as they were obviously made beforehand. In any case, I believe a lot of time and effort has gone into recording this new theme tune.

Yeah I caught that - actually they've also been running a spoof ad featuring the music (though I wasn't sure whether it was the new music or an old version). It starts off with the music, before the guy who does the Virgin and E4 voiceovers cuts in, saying something along the lines of "the return of an iconic institution"...etc. Eventually you find out it's for Christian O'Connell's Breakfast Show, returning tomorrow! Had me going for a while, thought ITV had gone bonkers with their marketing strategy...

Ha I too heard that and it did make me drop my jaw. It was along the lines of "YES IT'S BACK!!!!!" with the News at Ten music underneath Laughing

Some of these Guardian writers really do need to check out their facts before committing finger to key.

Is that not correct then?
