Those straps look lovely. In fact, it all does - everything looks amazing, the other bulletins are going to look fugly and dated in comparison!

Studio does look better - but it's still ruined by that awful desk in the middle.

I thought that at first but now thinks it works quite well... becuase the rest of the studio is very dark, having a light coloured desk works quite well.

The 'glass screens' look ok but a bit 'retro'? remind me of BBC News's glass screeens in the 1990's.

My thoughts too. It's like we've gone back 15 years!

How is Julie supposed to "touch" a screen that isn't there? Has she been given lessons from a protegé of Marcel Marceau since leaving Sky? Or is she going to be touching a green painted board and hope that she still retains some element of credibility?

It appears to be all magic tricks, fancy graphics and no promise of a change in content or editorial control. I hope I'm wrong, but the chances are slim, and I don't see this programme being a long-term threat to the Ten on BBC One.

Thanks for that! Very kind. The new studio looks so much better when you compare it with what they have now at the start and end of the vid.

A case of the phrase 'polishing a turd'? I know what you mean.

It all seems promising apart from Sir Trevor - it just annoys me that he retired and now suddenly he's back. Although maybe he is just doing 'supply' work.

I'll echo requests for the videos on YouTube or something - they just simply won't work for me today on the ITV website.

Here are some videos in .WMV format

Yeah I think the same. Maybe on Monday News at Ten will win over the Beeb- because of the amount of 'curious' viewers.

But long-term I reckon the BBC will win the slot back simply due to the quality of journalism.

It took me about six attempts to finally view it - and frankly I might as well have downloaded the 80's version from TV Ark.

Yes, without a doubt they were the shows most impressive titles, but that was back in the 80's. The new titles seem like little more than a mock immitation and just aren't good enough by today's standards - especially the flagship end shot of Big Ben, which completely lacks any attention to detail.

I've never been a huge fan of the music either - much prefer the variation used over recent years.

But I do guess the titles sum up exactly what the programme is all about - living in the past!

I think that's a bit harsh and I'll reserve full judgement until Monday-

a WMV on a PC can look very different to what it looks like on the box!
