ITV News at Ten - yup it does sound tacky.
ITV have really botched this already, why not announce date now? or News at Ten a 'sensitive commercial secret' as well?

why should they announce it now? They can announce it whenever they like. Most people are more interested in the Christmas schedules not looking 2 weeks into the new year

.......and remove the dreaded "ITV" branding and bring back "ITN" for the bulletin.

They don't want to leave it too late, I think ITV should pull out all the stops for this, not just TV trails. Things like full page spreads in national newspapers, they have them for programmes like Big Brother and I'm A Celeb.

I don't think they should - and I don't think it would be in ITN's favour at all.
ITN has moved on in the last nine years and is now far more than the provider of news to ITV.
Meanwhile, ITV is just stuck in a timewarp and thinks bringing back News at Ten everytime it hits trouble is the solution to everything.
It's up to them now to ensure the "ITV News" brand is respected.

Eh... when have they done it before? They've brought it back once and only because they were forced to.
I personally think it should just be called News at Ten, with ITV branding on the titles underneath. It could sometimes be referred to as News at Ten from ITV.
Incidentally does anyone know when (and indeed why) the "From ITN" part of the introduction was dropped?

I would like to see John Suchet be one of the main presenters on News at Ten again.
He was/is one of the better modern-day newscasters - Natasha Kaplinsky is not one of them - and I bet he will be a valuable asset again, just like when he did on the original NaT run.
Suchet could do it - he left five news yesterday.

2001 I think, just before News at Ten was bought back last time. I think it was the start of ITV's new contract with ITN and was about building up the "ITV News" brand.
