Surely if they are going to have a new set, they will just do like they did in 2004 and build the new set in the what is now virtual studio, that is the 1999-2004 studio, and turn the 2004 - present studio back to the virtual, so that no set is out of action.
The other alternative is to set up the desk and catwalk into the virtual studio and hope for the best.

I'm having a good little chuckle about people wondering how on earth ITN will fit rehearsals and set changes into the time between now and when NAT relaunches.
The 'rehearsals' will be trying out camera angles, balancing sound, getting graphics lined up etc and testing the gallery. Jobs that could be done in about a week. The set being built - let us remember, the BBC's TC7 set was built over a period of about 2 weeks, wasn't it?
