I'll be sorry to see Trevor leave. He has improved with a co-host. I would now like to see, possibly in the New Year or even in the next few weeks, News At Ten 5 nights a week.
I hope it is decided Mark would have OVEREXPOSED status if he does two bulletins a day permanently and Mark steps down from one of the bulletins.
As I've been writing, why isn't there a regular rota of newscasters on News At Ten, if Mark and Julie don't want to a 5 day week - just like in the Alastair Burnet era, [Alastair was the senior presenter and he did something like 5 days one week and 4 days the second week usually].

One thing is slightly annoying about what newscasters say and that is when they say "You can, of course, join Mark and Julie for that" - Who is Mark and Julie!! Don't they have surnames?!

Actually, it's sad he's leaving. No matter what some here think, Trevor is the last remaining element of the "old days" of the sturdy and reliable ITN.

All the best, TMcD!

That "ITV News" graphic with Mark and Julie looks terrible! The version used on the News at Ten page looks much better.

Will be somewhat sad seeing Trevor's final bulletin, it's strange to think of him retiring from newscasting altogether.. but hey, he'll have presenting roles for special programmes anyway. Considering they had all the fanfare in December 2005 (special reports on the Lunchtime and Evening News bulletins, I think even Huw Edwards interviewed Trevor for BBC News?), do you think it'll all be low-key tonight ("That's it from me, for the last time, goodnight", etc), or will there be an Alastair Burnet-type exit, with Julie doing a special "And Finally.." report on Trevor? I suspect the former.

Sad to see him go, I only wish it wasn'#t Austin taking his place.

Just a low key exit for Trevor, then. A quick thank you from Julie and the team (wouldn't it have been nice to hear the 'ITN' name there?!) and Trevor signed off as usual. He seemed a bit uncomfortable during Julie's little tribute there. All we got was a slightly extended closing sequence to give us one last look at Trevor!

Looked down the wrong camera until the very end Laughing The bit made me smile where they started their "talking" at the end and he thought the mic was still on.

As much as some people seem to dislike him on the programme, he will be missed because he's been there for years and as already said in here he is the only link to the 'old' News at Ten.

But looking forward, it will be interesting to see who is going to be the main anchor of News at Ten. Rightfully it should be Julie, but will it go like that?

Very poignant and touching... sad to see him go, really! Would have been really nice to hear Julie say "from all of us here at ITN" instead of "on the News at Ten team". Also not very often we get to hear an extended clip of the the closing theme.

I loved Lawrence McGinty's simple "and now - for the last time, back to you, Trevor..."
