No, BBCNicky is right on this one. There was a News At Ten 'coming up' at the 8 o'clock hour. Think it used to last a full one minute, though. Aah, 1990s ITV.. when it used to have regular good programmes.
News At Ten used to do a "Focus on Britain" section as well. I never quite understood that because the majority of News At Ten reports were in Britain.

Thanks, I thought I'd imagined it for a minute there! Focus on Britain IIRC was just a in-depth look at a certain British news story (or stories?). Whilst NaT doesn't have that section now, it did have an "In Depth" section - as well as a "Special Assignment" section. Both of these, for some random reason, haven't been seen since about April.

I like how they're trailing NaT in earlier ad-breaks in primetime.. bit strange to air a trailer for it in the somewhat early 7:10pm slot but it sort of serves as a reminder for some ("Oh, News at Ten's on later, I'll be watching that"...... well, you know what I mean.)

Surely no more strange than trailing it during the Evening News at 6.30, which they've done since the return of NaT?

Point taken, then!

You'd expect them though to trail their flagship bulletin in the Evening News as they've always done (pre-1999 there was always a look-ahead to NaT in the 5:40pm bulletin). I said it was strange they trailed it as early as 7pm because usually the promo airs much later and closer to the bulletin.

Sir Trevor's replacement on News at Ten has just been formally announced.

I think this is an excellent choice. This style befits the bulletin perfectly.

What on earth are they doing getting James Cracknell to use a touch screen? Cheapens the programme for me somewhat. I've noticed him having to press it about two or three times before anything actually happens.

Anyone else noticed they've dropped the ad break between NaT and the regional news? It's better this way IMO, instead of waiting through adverts for the local news, flows quite well too. I'm still annoyed as to why they schedule NaT 22:00 - 22:40, when the whole thing finishes somewhere around 22:44!

I suppose its better than when they billed it to stop at 22.35 and it went on until 22.44 Laughing

And to think when it started people were moaning about the bulletin finishing a minute or two before the BBC's!

ITV have very quietly changed their schedule tonight due to the Footie, meaning News At Ten will be on at 10.10pm, and Regional News being at 10.30pm like usual.

How much better has this been as a Trevor McDonald free zone!

Due to the situation in Georgia overshadowing events in Beijing, it's really just been a single led bulletin for the last week or so and Julie Etchingham seems far more comfortable in the role.

She's off next week though according to RT and Mary Nightingale is back as cover.

Mark Austin back in the studio for tonight's NaT. Why isn't he at the Olympics anymore?

Mark is presenting on his own. I believe Mary was suppose to co-present tonight (unless she is in Beijing)
