First time I've seen a Bong and a Headline played before the titles...

EDIT: Who's idea is it to have John Simpson right next to Ethcingham?

So, Mark will be in Beijing for tonight's NaT, with Julie in the studio. To me it seems Julie's more at home presenting either by herself or with Mark; likewise Trevor seems more suited to presenting by himself of with someone like Mary.

Yeah, does seems a bit weird how they've started doing that recently but it makes a bit of a change. This is what the other ITV News bulletins do isn't it, i.e. first headline > titles > other headlines > sting?

News at Ten trail in the middle of the 8.30pm Corrie, with Julie walking around the newsroom, is this a first ?

Thats the first time during Corrie - I thought it seemed a bit strange advertising News At Ten over an hour before it comes on air.

But it makes sense to advertise it during their highest rated programme, doesn't it?

Of course, but I was quite surprised as ive certainly never noticed it before.Usually they advertise it during the last past of the 9pm show.

True, but I'm sure they used to do a NaT trailer at around 8:30pm during the 1990s... anyone else remember this, or am I imagining it?

I certainly don't remember those. I suspect your imagination is playing tricks on you, Nicky. However, my memory is not that reliable when it comes to the mid-90s.

No, BBCNicky is right on this one. There was a News At Ten 'coming up' at the 8 o'clock hour. Think it used to last a full one minute, though. Aah, 1990s ITV.. when it used to have regular good programmes.
News At Ten used to do a "Focus on Britain" section as well. I never quite understood that because the majority of News At Ten reports were in Britain.
