News at Ten - Weeknights on ITV1

It will only be at 10pm four nights a week.

Idiots. They never learn, do they?

Oh dear. This will only work if

a) The news is at 10pm Monday to Thursday.
b) Friday's news is clearly branded 'Weekend News'.

However I fear the bulletin which isn't at 10pm will change at random.

Also it's said to be back in February - not January.

I don't think they would be stupid enough to go back to the News at When situation - unless of course this is the start of a plan to rid ITV of all news commitments With ITV thesedays you just don't know.

The four-night a week scenario could have worked last time if they'd stuck to it - but this time around I think for ITV to show a serious commitment it needed to be five days a week, even though personally I think the more flexible Friday bulletin is a good thing. Wonder if it'll move back to 11pm?


Indications have always been it wouldn't launch in January - I think ITV have probably got a few more 90-minute dramas and 10pm comedies to burn off before it returns.

I think its good its only 4 nights a week as Friday is part of the weekend - however I do agree that it should be branded the Weekend News on a Friday as has been suggested.

I think 90 minute or 2 hour dramas will have to go on a Sunday in future.

TV Newsroom reporting 7th January 2008 will be premiere of the new News at Ten, with a new set, graphics, and music. Very exciting, I doubt they can build a complete new set within just two months, maybe the London Studio's set rumour was true.

How long do you really think it takes to build a news set - most refurbs are done over a weekend!


I doubt that date is any more than a guess really - though launching in the New Year would give them more time to make any changes to the set - though of course we know they can easily go recreate the current set in the CSO studio for as long as is required.

I doubt any relaunch would be that early. Remember there would be hardly any time for rehersals and to change the set following on after the christmas period
