"And I'll be here sometimes as well." Mark Austin seemed less than ecstatic.
His "back where it belongs" comment didn't sound too convincing either. It must be frustrating to work on what has become a very watchable and credible broadcast (moreso than its predecessor anyway), and for it to be so unsuccessful ratings-wise.
I don't think a little wishful thinking would be misplaced, I'd say NaT will defo get it's own titles. Wouldn't hold out much hope on the studio though.

Edit: sp
He was very unenthusiastic but Mark did say that it will get its own unique look.
Maybe a new version of the theme as he said the bongs are back too.
What do they mean when they say that? The bongs are on all the ITV News output - so the bongs haven't gone away.
Would be nice for News at Ten to look and sound distinctive to the 6.30 and afternoon shows. But it wont - because it'll cost more money.
So bastically News at Ten - which was known for good journalism, and being a distinctive flagship will basically be the 10.30 news half and hour earlier.
Nice to see the news snobs alive, well and kicking here on TV Forum.
Isn't it about time that you realise that BBC News is centered to s southern England perspective, and that ITV News has always been more 'people' orientated.
I'm guessing most of those scoffing at the return of News at Ten on here are BBC employees (soon to be ex?) with a worried axe to grind.
I can't help but think that ITV will just scrap and then reinstate News At Ten every few years forever more, in the hope that the blaze of glory surrounding each comeback of the "much-missed national institution" will give ITV News in general a short-term popularity boost.
I have every expectation that the new
News At Ten
will be in name only. In terms of its journalistic/editorial style and content etc, it'll probably be just the same as the, say, the 11pm
Nightly News
was, or indeed the same as every other current ITV News bulletin.
That's pretty much how it felt when it was reinstated the last time. I challenge ITV to prove me wrong, and actually make the new
News At Ten's
journalistic/editorial style and content more like it was originally.
