News at Ten - Weeknights on ITV1

Totally agree, theres to much of an age difference with dear old Trev and Ms Etchiner- but what a great idea! I say bring back the old girls! This would be amazing!!! Moira and Julia all the way I say!!!!
There could even be a stair lift sponsor for the ITV weather! Maybe time to dig up Thora Hurd just like they did with good old Trev!!!

Having crisis talks over a possible axing perhaps? If News at Ten was to be axed, i don't think she'll stay with ITV, she might try and go back to Sky... If they'll have her. I think she made a mistake going to ITV really anyway.

I don't. Even if it was one of the smaller jobs Julie was offered like stand-in on the level of Geraint or Nina I think she would have taken it.

She has made a leap from an obscure digital channel with a mid-afternoon slot to ITV News- the second highest rated news strand in the UK. She has far much more exposure and she has admitted people now know who she is whereas before they never. I don't think its a bad move at all. It doesn't get much bigger for a journalist than having one of the biggest onscreen jobs at ITN for ITV. It only gets bigger if its on BBC One.

I feel I may have been harsh on Mary in the ITV News thread. Slating her for how many holidays she has, when infact she has just swapped shifts. For the past few weeks it has been Nina co-presenting the Evening News, which I thought was odd. However Mary seems to have taken the time off, and swapped shifts instead to present both the Evening News and News at Ten, this week (and next week?)

I don't.

For the simple reason that it was her choice to move. Obviously she thought about it, and felt it was the right thing, so she went ahead with it. That's ultimately the deciding factor on whether getting a new job is the right thing - whether she wanted to or not.

Does anyone actually still believe this.

Think it's fair to say that was a load of rubbish (as we expected) - and the fact it's not been picked up at all by the usual suspects, not even to print a denial, says it all.


Notice "News at Ten" is scheduled at Monday with just a 15-minute bulletin. I wonder if they'll use the programmes branding, or just make it an ITV News bulletin?

Agree about Julie - id never heard of her before she moved to News At Ten so its definately a good move for her as a lot more people will know who she is.
