I think they've been doing that for a couple of weeks anyway.

It'll be interesting to see now if everytime Mark does to News at Ten whether he is absent from the Evening News.

Changes in the offing? Ms Etchingham pregnant?

Really - what did I say. That must be a record for Big Trev though - less than two months!

I'd imagine Nina Hossain would be the most obvious choice as stand-in, unless they moved Katie Derham from the lunchtime bulletin.

Don't get too carried away. I thought she just had a bit of extra beef, which could be the simple explanation.

As discussed in the ITV News thread:

No source or whatever there - and as it's from the people behind the Daily Star it's hardly reliable - and I don't believe at all they'd have made this decision so quickly, especially when ITV have recommissioned crap like Moving Wallpaper.

Fair enough it may not be doing as well as they hoped, but there is absolutely no advantage to them moving it again so quickly, especially since the 30-minute and 90-minute programmes which could fill the slot leading up to 10.30pm haven't been commissioned.

I agree with all the reasons why this story is probably rubbish, but one can't help feeling that ITV's ability to shoot itself in the foot is undiminished.

ITV would be foolish too to think the "News at Ten Thirty" could pick up from where it left off - moving the schedule around again means it would basically be starting from scratch again, and any momentum News at Ten Thirty had picked up in the last year or two (which I think it had) would have been lost.

I agree with other posters it just seems too soon to make a decision about News At Ten, it would be a massive PR own goal.
