I preferred the teal too - but the whole package of ITV News needs overhauling now, especially as they've done a pretty good job with the look of News at Ten, outlining how dated the rest of the package is.

Not quite sure what they could use as a backdrop instead of the atrium or skyline, but getting rid of that fake walkway would be a start along with the desk. I think using a Big Ben clockface as the base of the desk would be best, and would be suitable for both News at Ten and the other bulletins.

As for the look - I'd start with those really nice News at Ten stings, but tweak the colours for the other bulletins. If they use the white ITV News logo as the main log, they can then give the rest of the bulletins their own look by simply tweaking the background colours for each - perhaps orange for lunchtime, purple for evening etc.

The only problem is that as I said in the other post, with ITV giving their channel's and brands a colour, they can't really then colour code their news programmes, can they?
I do like the idea of the teal logo too. I was thinking that they should go back to a graphic based idea, maybe having the clock face tilted, so that it partly goes up the wall, as though the other half is underneath the studio floor.

Couldn't they create a newsroom, a fake one, so that it looks as though the newsroom and walkways continue through the wall, and add in desks, and a screen at the back they would be presumed to be a giant screen, but not really if you get the idea.

Interesting to put Katie on. I didn't even think they would replace Julie. I do think Nina should be part of the NAT team as well and would have been better and more suited to the job over Julie.

Mr. Male Continuity Announcer was very informal in the teaser at the end of the Brits credits... "ITV NAT is coming your way next."

News at Ten late... wouldn't mention it... but it's been a good couple of minutes now... You think they would have cut straight to the news with the Brits finishing a liddle before 10. They have been pretty on time considering IMO.

It started only a few minutes late. I thought they would cut straight to NaT after the Brits, to try and keep some viewers. As it finished bang on 10pm, but no their was adverts.

Re: Nina, maybe she didn't want to present News at Ten 4/5 nights a week? I think Julie is doing a fine job, it's just her co-anchor that needs changing..

2 minutes. Thats hardly anything to complain about and remember the BRITs went out live so could have easily overrun. ITV don't start most of their shows on time anyway, there have been times where Corrie hasn't started until about 7.35pm.

Well I'm not complaining, just commenting.

haven't watched the show in a few days but it's looking very tabloidly tonight - lead on missing young girl, 'special report' on teen binge drinking (very original)..

Yeah, what a load of crap. Hardly news. When I was 15 over 20 years ago everyone used to drink big bottles of white cider, and it was cheap then. Apparently kids are starting to drink at 15, 16 now. Yeah, and? What's new?

I... don't think it is that. More, that they needed someone a little more high profile to do the newsreading, that is where Julie Etchingham comes into play.

Noticed how Katie Derham strayed away from her usual lunchtime dressing habits....
