The Beeb have done far better than I think anyone (including them) expected. And all credit to them, they produce a better programme. Wink

Yes - it seems Julie had to exercise and put a little too much effort in to it all. I bet she had wet armpits after that vigorous routine! Laughing

I don't understand the logic behind the fake touch screen. It doesn't add anything. It's a news programme, not a pantomime. I half expect Trevor to shout "behind you" everytime she "presses" a button.

Yeah that famous pantomime with the touch screen in it.

...and?!

Let's not forget 'Beauty and The Touch Screen.'

Or my personal favourite 'Snow White and the Seven Touch Screens'.

Julie did seem to be over-emphasising her turns to touch the screen. That said, it was still quite effective.

Has Julie not had a day off yet?

Cant see why it cant be James Mates every Friday. The late news on Friday only needs 1 presenter really so Julie could have a Friday off, and Mark could just stand in on NAT Mon-Thurs when Trevor is off.

Yes, because heaven forbid someone on TV should work 5 days a week like us mere mortals have to! Why should Julie get Friday off? I don't!

Agreed. James always used to do fine on his own every Friday

Neither do I - I wish I did Wink But most other newsreaders, including regional news presenters, get Fridays off (well they seem to in my region anyway). Perhaps they work such long hours they cover their hours over 4 days.

Seems tonight's Late News isn't going to be NaT style judging by the preview just shown.
