News at Ten had an advert break in the middle of the programme (around 22:14) last night, was this the first time?

Yes. I had the television on in the background, so I wasn't really focused on it, but managed to hear them going to a break. Has the music used as the "welcome back" sting been played on the programme before last night?

Nope I don't think it has. But it was reminiscent of the "Welcome Back" theme of NAT in previous years.

....and utterly horrible.

Have any of you guys noticed at the end of every bulletin Trevor shakes his head during the closing music? I bet my house he does it tonight.

I thought that last night, too. He seems to be shaking his head in disbelief at the 'and finally' story. To be honest, the whole closing sequence is cringeworthy. Julie sucks up to Trevor with a corny joke and Trevor doesn't know what to say or do in reply because he's crap with a co-presenter. I wish they'd cut the pleasantries and just close the bulletin with the usual script.

Did like the And Finally last night though, especially the line:

"To locals the Owl was known as Tawny Blair - because he had some trouble with his left wing..."
(The rare tawny owl who got tangled in a kite in a tree in Somerset. Is it just me or are these sort of stories always in Somerset?)

Good to have a proper light-hearted And Finally for once - normally the stories are completely irrelevant to its purpose IMO.

We did have a little banter last night with Trevor and Julie, Julie initiating it, Trevor a little hesitant.

He has been doing that shaking his head thing for a good while now. Roll on tonight.

EDIT:
Way to prove me wrong, Trevor! No shaking head thing tonight - so i presume I have lost my house in the bet I made in a previous post. Razz Graphics went a bit dodgy towards the end and we finally saw the touch screen with Julie! It was quite dramatic. Has that been used yet?

Anyone got a cap of the touch screen?

I believe it was used in the first week - look further back in the thread for caps!

I posted a video clip of it a few weeks back. Here it is again.

Me and my chronic lack of common sense...! Thanks!

It looks quite fiddly and ruins the fluency of the programme, although a creative, good idea. It seems impractical.

Yes - it seems Julie had to exercise and put a little too much effort in to it all. I bet she had wet armpits after that vigorous routine! Laughing
