Certainly did...

Arrow News at Ten: Julie Using Touch Screen

Interesting. I think its a really good method and its good how they've done it. However, it could work a lot better and appear a lot less tacky without the play buttons at the bottom and the screen just plays out with Julie circling things and pointing to things.

But she wasn't just using the play buttons, was she? She was pointing to specific things too.

Shocked Oh, that's just ridiculous!

Sounds like an excuse to have less actual news, to me.

Think about it... the actual commercial might only be 1 x 30-seconds, but ITV might (and probably will) flesh the whole "break" out with, for example, at least one programme trailer before and/or after the commercial itself.

Also, the "break" will have to be formally lead into and out of by N@10 (e.g. studio wideshot with a burst of the theme-tune, maybe even a sting animation, etc). The "break" might even be preceeded by a "still to come on News at Ten" rundown. All of which could mean that, say, 2-minutes (or something) is wasted for the sake of just one 30-second commercial.

I suspect that might be ITVplc's plan.

Yes, brilliant ITN, I didn't understand a word Julie was saying, I was far too interested in the lovely screen she was using.

Anyone catch the Late News tonight - and were the titles still "Big Ben with a blob" - with a quick cutaway in the hope nobody notices!

Yes I did and yes they were. Did you expect them to be any different from last week?

I dont see the problem with the titles, they have to cut away from the clock as it isnt News At 10 but as the programme follows the same format as News at 10 its better to use the same studio rather than the ITV News one.

I'm surprised no-one has picked up on the fact that News at Ten started at 22.01 tonight. That's the first time it has been late (excluding Fridays, of course) since it came back.
