They could have used the old set and graphics to illustrate that its not real. When they aired the fictional documentary about a dirty bomb in London, believe it or not some people thought it was real and called strangely enough, the BBC. I think 999 would be able to help them more effectively in that sort of crisis. Anyway my point is they would be trying to create a real news report with out it appearing too real if you get what i mean. Hence the reason why the shot floats around a lot or we view through a tv in a room that the camera is looking at. Stops people fretting if they have just tuned in! It was strange to use two different era's of a channel in the same program though. Perhaps the first news reports were recorded in advance of the later reports and news 24 had relaunched in between?
