In the past, Have any local news programmes ever had their entire programme on one story just like Grandad Reports and North West Tonight with Liverpool's Champions League tonight. What about Man Utd's win in 1999 and earlier sporting triamphs

Devoting a whole news programme to one story isn't exactly new is it? But judging the mentality of many of your posts, the Liverpool story is the first 'big' story you will have come across.

Im pretty sure when there was a huge fire at a chemical storage area in North Tyneside a few years ago both Look North NE&C and North East Tonight devoted their entire programmes to the story as the toxic fumes spread across almost the whole region.

I think in 1999 regional coverage practically mirrored tonights events, with Man Utd having a victory parade the night after - but I don't think it dominated the national news as it is today.

Generally with a big story there is usually at least a brief round up of other headlines - the last I can think of locally is BBC Wales's preview of the Six Nations Grand Slam.

Well Sunderland were promoted a couple of weeks ago, so that probably took up the whole edition of Look North on the Sunday afternoon Smile

scottishender seems to be the latest in a long line of brain dead idiotic forumers, surely its only a matter of time before we can throw him on the pannel/winifred/mdr/david h/spiring heap.

If my memory serves me well Look North (BBC Yorkshire) did a whole programme on the Hillsborough disaster. It was on Monday 2 days after the event. Cant remember if Yorkshire Televisions Calendar did the same that night.
I also recall a special Newsnight devoted to the disaster that weekend.
