Kaplinski is so overrated, how did she manage to build such a name for herself, she started at Sky News and then moved to BBC but why did they see something special in her and made her their star??? Rolling Eyes Cool

Good agent, taking the right move at the right time (whether consciously or not), and being thought highly of by executives on the up. Also actually being able to do the job well (looking at the right camera at the right time, and not being a diva) helps.

I believe that wages for news presenters at BBC News (i.e. News24, World and Nationals) range from £50,000 to £550,000 per year. Obviously when other presenters are involved in other work such Fiona Bruce at the Antiques Roadshow etc, wages are obviously variable, but I believe these figures are taken into account for news presenting work alone. I can't imagine ITN and Sky being much different, perhaps more in some cases.
