How much do News presenters get paid?

Just curious to know what the pay is for the news presenters in Britain. The top news presenter in Ireland gets €200,000 a year. Just wondering what the likes of Julie Etchingham, Jon Snow, Jeremy Thompson etc. get paid?

IIRC Kaplunksi is on some daft contract of £1m for five news. Other lines are blurred with Paxman getting money that includes other shows he does for the BBC.

More interesting perhaps than the star figures would be the average wages of the presenters on World and N24.

Wouldn't bet on it. With belts being tightened across the industry, and a general "credit crunch" I suspect many renegotiating lucrative golden handcuff deals will be taking a pay cut.

They may not feel it - and still earn a decent wage - but they won't be getting a pay rise in general.

Probably a lot less than many would guess.

Kaplinski is so overrated, how did she manage to build such a name for herself, she started at Sky News and then moved to BBC but why did they see something special in her and made her their star???

News wise she started off at Meridian Tonight but she was also on TV before that too. She was involved in Granada Talk TV when it was around.
