Having Jeremy in Rome would seem a bit odd - IMO. Kate Sanderson is still on Breakfast just now - guess she will remain there until the end of the year.
Yes, I think that David did very well. He seemed very comfortable (maybe because he gets to sit behind a desk again!) and handled the news agenda well. Maybe News 24 should utilise regional presenters just as the ITVNC does?
Odd shift change on News 24 this afternoon. Peter Dobbie was on with Maxine Mahwhinney from 1pm. The 4pm bulletin has just begun and Maxine is still presenting with Mathew Amroliwala. Someone not shown up, or Maxine doing a double???

There is a good pool of talent to be had from regional news presenters
And its not as if they have not done it before
Susan Osman
Heather McKarthy
Emily Matlis
Roger Johnson
I think Jon Sopel and Jules Botfield would be a great team for weekday Breakfast with Bill Turnbull and Sian Williams on weekends.
Natasha should do the weekend BBC ONE bulletins and Dermot Murnaghan should go to the Six with Sophie Raworth. Move George Alagiah to the One instead of Darren Jordan and move him to News 24 instead of Jon.
Jon and Jules did Breakfast in the summer of 2003 for a few days and it was much better than the rest. Then again we used to have Michael Peschardt and Michael Buerk as well - before Simon McCoy though
I think Simon McCoy has settled down well on BBC Breakfast. Let Bill and Sian present Monday to Thursday, Simon and Mishel present Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Dermot could then replace George on the Six and Natasha could head into light entertainment..

I reckon Breakfast should use some of the regional presenters for the 'Moira/Kate' summaries. I live in the Points West region, and the local presenters in the morning are tonnes better than Kate or Sarah Campbell. It really jars when we go back and get a worse service from the national lot. Amanda Parr would be great and Maurice Flynn is always a joy to wake up to. The more I think about it, they don't ever have male presenters doing the update/headlines bit. Have they ever? Wonder if that's a policy or just a coincidence. Does anyone know?

When Breakfast was first launched in the Sophie/Jeremy era Asad Ahmed the former Reporting Scotland presenter (now BBC London News) was Moira's stand in on a Friday and her holiday cover. I think he only did the job for about a year, then we got the dreadful and thankfully now five bound Kate Sanderson
