As are (now) the BBC News Channel.

I think it will definitely impact on her Tuesday appearance in front of the Commons Select Committee.

Why 'BSkyB' was retained this long after the reason for the 2 B's has long disappeared

Because, like so many things, there is a difference between the company name and the brand : cf NatWest, ASDA, TFL etc.

I know that, there is a difference though. Natwest and Asda are wholey owned subsidiaries of multi-national companies. BSkyB and Sky are one and the same

Yes, all big companies have several legal entities for organisational, regulatory and accounting reasons, but in BSkyB's case they all trade to the public as 'Sky'. It's not the same as RBS who trade as RBS, Natwest, Ulster Bank etc. or something like Arcadia who have Burton, TopShop, Evans etc

Either way it's irrelevant to my original point - there's no reason to keep the clunky name now that BSB's shareholders are out of the picture

Not really surprising, considering it's Fox News but that is simply an incredible piece of output that is so... wrong. A blatant attempt to sweep the entire affair under the carpet, a fair and balanced segment in under four minutes, my arse.
