How come there's no satire shows on anywhere at the moment?

There's The Now Show: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b012ftsc/The_Now_Show_Series_34_Episode_6/
which last week had this great piece by John Finnemore: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Izd-BYuDIcU

Conduct their own investigation? Piers was refferred to a couple of times during the committee sitting today, even as 'CNN's celebrity news anchor'.

Yeah, I can't work out if that's good publicity or not Confused

Assume so. Just skipped through the first 20 minutes (was recording while watching Newsnight) and it's not in there so perhaps it was in the first hour.

Edit: part of it is on CNN.com here presumably the part before Louise Mensch was brought on: http://t.co/C6oyO29

MP3 of the Wolf Blitzer interview of Louise Mensch:

Isn't the clip in question on the video grid below the main video titled 'Piers Morgan angry at MP's claim'.

It's on their website now.

I don't like Mensch, but it seems an awful lot like Piers Morgan is trying to backtrack. I can see this part of the story going places in the coming weeks, I can't see CNN letting their fairly good record be tarnished by him if it goes further.

Ah yes it wasn't there earlier.

That's the actual quote. Well, it's not quite as damning as she made out in Parliament but it certainly shows that he was aware of the potential.

I'd be very surprised if something didn't come out in the next few weeks about this happening at The Mirror, Daily Mail or maybe even the Express.

Hmm, I see what you mean about him wanting to backtrack. I think he was more cross in the fact that a paragraph from his book was used to try and incriminate/tarnish him in the select committee, and maybe he felt like he was being singled out, as it appears from reports recently and from what Rebekah Brooks said in the select committee hearing that phone hacking was a means of getting information in Fleet Street in the late 1990s?

Either way, I think CNN should investigate it, as has been said they do have a very good reputation for a clean code of practice in terms of journalism and I would think they would want to keep well clear of the hacking... if what turns out to have been quoted by Louise Mensch comes out as being true and clear malpractice.

The video on that page has Piers Morgan's reaction after the interview.
