And they have indeed moved to N8 with Nicholas Owen - I thought it was all done from the Olympic Park. I humbly apologise!

Absolutely horrendous sound from the studio the News Channel is using. Fiona's voice is being accompanied by an incessant noisy drone. It sounds like a generator. It's increasingly irritating.

Have to agree about the news - although I appreciate the effort of having a purpose built news studio, the hum is incredibly irritating.

Fiona doesn't also look that well lit either.

I think she's suffering quite badly from hay fever, by the looks of it.

And we've just found out that the studio isn't soundproofed against helicopters Very Happy

I'm sure they'll try and sort the sound out. It's a shame as the view is stunning and, even though it's basic, the studio looks very smart.

Sounds like the air conditioning is turned up max!

I guess being in a glass fronted building full of equipment, lights and outside temperatures of up to 30'C due tomorrow, you probably would want an industrial unit pumping cool air in there.

I think there's also a slight echo. Understandably, the sound is not going to be anywhere near as sharp as coming from N6.

Why are the Beeb trying to rip off an episode of 'Bewitched'?

I was half expecting Sophie to do that nose twitch that Liz Montgomery used to do!

As has been said, the hum is apparently the air conditioning. If they plonk a sofa in the studio, I can't help but think that will help the acoustics no end.

Yes, on one of Chris Cook's twitter photos it was described as being rather warm in there!

I said "sounds like". It was just a bit of a guess. Please don't pass on my thoughts as facts.

I think the word 'apparently' was more than adequate. Where did you got the idea I was passing off your thoughts as facts?
