The interview background is a bit of a disappointment - VERY visible John Lewis logo.

What do you want them to do?

Demolish John Lewis for a few weeks? Put up a Daybreak style stained glass so the view doesn't offend you? Have the guest sit on the presenter's knee so everyone is in prime position?

Fair point. They've made the best of what they have.

Is it just me that thinks it's a tad early for the news to be at the Olympic Park....? From Thursday onwards, it'd be fair enough.

Hardly - from a news perspective the Olympics has dominated the agenda for over a week now - arguably they're actually too late.

Zeinab!!! At the Olympics.

Music used is World News Today. Is she the only one to be allowed to use her own music, as opposed to the generic BBC World News?

Edit: spoke too soon. It was the headline bed only from WNT. Main theme was generic World.

Are these studios in the building which looks like a shipping container from the outside?

No.

So which studios are there? I'm sure they were occupied by the BBC.

This post from earlier in the thread (p.3) should help:

CONFUSED! how many News studios are there at the Olympics site in total...

Think there are four different areas:

The first one is the national news one as can be seen above - with a desk.

Second one is for the news channel - with red swivel chairs and a small coffee table.

Third one is the BBC World News/BBC London studio with the sofa. World are kicked out of this studio for BBC London bulletins.

Fourth and final one is the other sofa studio, with the view that isn't quite as good - seems to be used as the backup used when BBC London are on air.

Sorry, got to correct that!
There are two glass box studios on top of Lund Point. Studio A is the one on the right, and has so far today been seen on Breakfast, the News Channel, and the One O'Clock News. When I visited, there was only one table there and a lot of chairs - I have a suspicion that the desk has (prepare yourself) a top that moves up and down. This means that it can be used as a coffee table, or as a proper desk, and they just need to swap the chairs to match.

Studio B is the one with the sofa which World have been using all morning. BBC London will use this for their evening bulletin. I don't know when their first transmission will be.

The weather stand-up position is the one in between.

There are a handful of other stand-up positions on the floors below. They're pretty much indistinguishable from each other.

World's "other" sofa set is at Ironworks, in Hackney Wick.

Thanks for that. Which set with Olympic Breakfast come from?

none of the above Smile

From what I've read, Olympic Breakfast will come from the shipping containers which contain the BBC One and BBC Three sets (BBC Sport). Lund Point is an old tower block.

Shush, don't say that, or we really will end up with something as bad as:

*

That's right, they'll start presenting it from a virtual studio, built in SketchUp.

Really don't understand why is World stuck in this second set all afternoon long while the one with the nice London skyline is empty and just used for sport updates and Sport Today? Confused
The close up with of the stadium became old after 15 minutes of George's hour. Rolling Eyes

I wonder if the Ten will be at the olympic park tonight as they're doing a full opening ceremony dress rehearsal - and I believe there is part of it which can be seen outside the stadium.

So the news channel will remain in N6 and not decamp to N8 at 9:30pm? One would assume.

Well why would they faff around moving to N8 when there's no point?

As I assume N6's gallery will still be used, surely they'll still have to move to N8? You could tell TC7 was still used for the 6 - the place names on the live bug are ever so slightly different.
