BBC News at Six looking terrible with the sun washing out the studio, and sounding terrible too.

Still looking OK IMHO, but the sound is just appalling...
The interview background is a bit of a disappointment - VERY visible John Lewis logo.

They're going to acknowledge the games then this year rather than plough on as if football transfers are the biggest sporting event around at the moment.

George seems a bit too big on screen as well, surely not another Breakfast style issue regarding space to pull the camera back?

Hopefully they can sort it all out by Friday.

For the benefit of those outside the UK, this is what the BBC News channel's/Nationals set looks like with the low-level desk...

First broadcast from the NC's Olympic studio. They certainly have a great view.

Do they really need to put the presenters off-centre in the shot, so they can show that horrible red thing in the background?

You mean the Hubble Bubble Tower. Razz (I think they should have just called it the Helter Skelter).

Funny I should find it when I typed 'Red thing London Olympic Park' on google, and it recognised it after 'red thing london' as a result!

This is apparently what use it serves...

What do you want them to do?

Demolish John Lewis for a few weeks? Put up a Daybreak style stained glass so the view doesn't offend you? Have the guest sit on the presenter's knee so everyone is in prime position?

Are these studios in the building which looks like a shipping container from the outside?

Fair point. They've made the best of what they have.

Is it just me that thinks it's a tad early for the news to be at the Olympic Park....? From Thursday onwards, it'd be fair enough.

No.

So which studios are there? I'm sure they were occupied by the BBC.
