So would we say that this is the biggest sporting event that BBC Sport, BBC Entertainment and BBC News departments have all had to cover in broadcasting within the UK?

Also, we know that Sky have provided some resources for the BBC (I.e. the Sat transponder capacity for the extra streams)... have ITV assisted in any way?

The summer Olympic Games are the biggest broadcasting event worldwide on the calendar, and they get more involved each year, so I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that it's the biggest event for the BBC full stop.

Sorry if this has already been asked, do Sky News have a studio at the Olympic park?

They definitely won't have one in the park itself of course. I believe their studio is on top of Westfield so will be a nice alternative angle to the beeb's

Posted this a few weeks back, fairly sure (based on signage that was at ground level) that this belongs to Sky, so presumably one of these windows is Sky Sports News and the other Sky News - but we'll see I guess!

It can't have been easy getting all of these glorified portacabins onto the top of all these buildings. Well worth it though.

So Olympic Opening Ceremony day is finally here:

Here's how the day shapes up, starting with the BBC...

BBC One and the BBC News Channel today (all special Olympics programmes seem to be simulcasts):

06:00-09:00 - Olympic Breakfast with Charlie Stayt and Louise Minchin

12:00-13:00 - London 2012: Countdown to the Olympics (2/3) with Sophie Raworth and Jane Hill

17:00-18:00 - London 2012: Countdown to the Olympics (3/3) with Sophie Raworth

19:00-00:00 - Olympics 2012: Opening Ceremony
(21:00-00:00 - Olympics 2012: Opening Ceremony - BBC News Channel joins BBC One for the simulcast)

British Eurosport are showing the Opening Ceremony from Beijing 2008 at 14:00 and again at 18:30.

Their live coverage of the opening ceremony starts at 21:00 and is scheduled (on the Sky EPG) to finish at 01:00.

Breakfast is with Bill and Sian. With someone shouting ON-AIR! haha!

It seems strange seeing Sian Williams back on Breakfast this morning!

At the start of Olympic Breakfast just now someone shouted "ON AIR" I thought this was what the presenters had ear pieces for?

I heard that shout too....But it is just being branded as ' Breakfast' instead of Olympic Breakfast like it used to be in 2008. That was a BBC Sports production but it seems more like a Breakfast production for now.

Wonder when they will start using it? Sunrise anchored from central London this morning.

In the case of Westfield I think the studios etc were put up when it was built, it's not been open a year yet
