BBC World, and I'm sure the other news channels, will entirely decamp to the temporary studios throughout the event.
Mishal Husain has just confirmed on BBC World's Weekend World that the entire World team will anchor their bulletins from the site during the games, and that will include full coverage of non Olympic news and indeed Breaking News as well.
She specifically mentioned the names of George Alagiah and Lyse Doucet who will operate from the site for the next weeks (Lyses appearances subject to being released from Syrian duties, albeit.)
Logistics question: in case something breaks down, will they have a duty presenter sitting back at HQ to pick up the feed and carry on with the news delivery?
In the case of BBC World, I wonder how they'll manage the studio branding and coloration for the likes of GMT, Impact, WNT, The Hub and Business Edition?
And, I assume the overnight programming will still come from N8 back at TVC?
An interesting couple of weeks ahead for us news junkies.
