BBC World, and I'm sure the other news channels, will entirely decamp to the temporary studios throughout the event.

Mishal Husain has just confirmed on BBC World's Weekend World that the entire World team will anchor their bulletins from the site during the games, and that will include full coverage of non Olympic news and indeed Breaking News as well.

She specifically mentioned the names of George Alagiah and Lyse Doucet who will operate from the site for the next weeks (Lyses appearances subject to being released from Syrian duties, albeit.)

Logistics question: in case something breaks down, will they have a duty presenter sitting back at HQ to pick up the feed and carry on with the news delivery?

In the case of BBC World, I wonder how they'll manage the studio branding and coloration for the likes of GMT, Impact, WNT, The Hub and Business Edition?

And, I assume the overnight programming will still come from N8 back at TVC?

An interesting couple of weeks ahead for us news junkies.

As I understand it, all branding (apart from World News America and Business Edition) are being binned in favour of the London 2012 branding.

And the overnights service is coming from the Olympic site too.

As I've just posted over on the other side...

the News Channel won't be missing out. They'll be coming from Lund Point Studio A.

As will the One/Six/Ten from later this week, in HD.

World will spend much of the day in Studio B - but then get kicked out in the evening to make way for BBC London.

World will then relocate to Ironworks, which you might have seen on air already - it's just next to Old Ford Lock. This is one of the views available to them:

Other broadcasters have rented space in Lund Point - RTE are one, I believe - though the facilities in the other stuios are a little basic:

But it really is all about that view.

I can see that the early morning 5am slot is going to have some reflection issues with the darkness outside!

However, liking the format so far. Big Komla on a sofa is a sight to behold.

An impressive effort by the BBC. Is sport coming from the Olympic park on World News then, as it's still Salford-based for the NC (excluding Breakfast). Nice to see the weather from there though.

Is this the same studio & set as the NC and Breakfast have been in today, as Ben is at a lower desk with red swivel chairs? Also, do you know if this is a purpose-built structure, or is it a converted office/apartment block?
