News 24 problems

Is it just me or is there no sound on News 24? I've got sound on all other channels, but not News 24. It also appears it's not just the link, as there is no sound when in the studio too...

Sound has just returned but all astons disappeared.

Isn't it lovely to see the news without a tonne of clutter on the screen.

I might actually watch it if it looked like this all the time. I do wonder how long it will take rolling news organisations to realise that sometimes pictures look so much more powerful without logos, tickers, clocks, and astons all over them.

indeed - the sudden lack of clutter really sets news 24 apart from the rest, far less messy. no doubt it will not last long

It does look lovely.

It's a pity that the graphics can't be shrunk down for the evenings, at least, where there's not as much need for them.

I noticed seconds before BBC TWO left News 24 at around a few minutes past 2, the on screen graphics, tower/ticker included just dissapeared off air at the same time with no animation.

At 4.58pm when they crossed to the weather, the on screen graphics were still on and didn't appear to go off so they gave up and faded them all out with no animation. Didn't look good.

I agree it does look lovely,but why dont they have back up still astons, if they can get up a 'live' strap why no basic astons at least?

Newsline graphics have just appeard!!

They're using BBC Newslines's graphics now! With an odd looking "LIVE" beacuse it's not there.

But why dosen't News 24 have a backup clock and brand id went things go wrong, as soon as it goes wrong on World, the backup DOG is in place.

So what's gone wrong with TOG today?

Any caps (I'm not near a TV)?

TOTH seemed fine, 11sec of countdown, all the usual music and titles, just no tower animating back up, or name graphics. Although that was a very long headline sequence.
