Sissons, Hayton and Yates are far more authoritative than the younger generation. They should be presenting the Ten and Six between them.

Amroliwala looks like an effigy from Madame Tussauds. Many of the younger ones are too wooden and have no character...

Darren Jordon - demote to regional news
Huw Edwards - demote to the One
George Alagiah - too fake, not authoritative. Put him on World.

I'd say Tim Willcox is the best of the younger generation. Truly excellent presenter, and handles breaking news excellently.

Tim "I can do any shift, honest" Willcox? He's alright.... I do think that there are a few genuinely good presenters on N24

Jane Hill
Matty Amroliwala
Karin Giannone
Kate Silverton
Jon Sopel

and it still bemuses me why Adrian Finighan is still on World. Why not bump him up? He's fab, as is Al Yates (God no. 2, second to Nick Harvey - Al Yates didn't sing about Polar).

Agreed on most of those - not sure about Amroliwala, but that's just a personal preference thing. Jane Hill however is brilliant, authoritative and approachable, Kate Silverton's been a total revalation, truly brilliant, she carries gravitas and an air of professionalism, yet seems very natural and relaxed. Karin Giannone is good from what I've seen of her, also very natural, while Jon Sopel is an extremely versatile presenter, one of the few journalists with equal abilities in the studio and out on the road.

One other person I'd add to the list is Chris Eakin - an excellent presenter, with his own brand of relaxed authority.

I haven't seen Big Al in ages. What time is he presenting now?

I also rate Peter Dobbie highly - he also has a friendly approach, and helps you relate to the news stories. I think Chris Eakin is excellent too - Excellent newsreading ability and plenty of confidence. His own brand of humour, banter (&colourful ties) bring a bit of 'excitement' to the evening's news. He also has the ability to reduce the excellent Jane Hill into fits of giggling.

Re: Big Al - he usually does Wed, Thu and Fri overnights as well as other times on World
