I think we have to ask: Of the general unwashed watching this, who even noticed and most importantly, who cares?

Well I was watching the Israel v Ireland match...then the Italy v Scotland on BBC1 Scotland, so no, I didn't watch it.

It's not all the time N24 is put on - on BBC programmes fake news bulletins such as the ones in My Family are used, and Sky News is used in that BBC Two programme, the one where you get three members of the public to pointlessly decide the country's future, only to find out it wasn't real.

What I happened to notice was that it called the department store "Henricks" in the News 24 caption, yet the actual store was called "Henriks"

Yes i notice these things, leave me alone!

Yes, jerking off to something that the programme producers probably didn't even give a thought to.

Jesus. Haven't we got anything better to talk about???

I'll tell you, *this* should be the subject of Nick's next monthly rant if you ask me.

For "jerking off" I read "discussion", yes?

Well, obviously they did give thought to it. Otherwise it wouldn't be there.

Besides, with the widescreen/4:3 graphics issue that has been brought up, it was obviously thought about fairly carefully, rather than just slapping it onto the screen...

Oh yes. But I'm trying to put off work Wink

People talking about things you're not interested about shocker.

If I'm not interested in something (ie. 90% of what is talked about on here), I just leave it alone and find a thread I *am* interested in - and let everyone else in the thread enjoy themselves. I suggest you do the same.

It's at times like this I realise why I like other forums I go on better - you've not got to go through this argument time after time after time. People just leave the threads they're not interested in the fu ck *alone*.

Indeed. There are plenty of threads that are of jackshít interest to me, and which I can't understand how they can be of interest to anybody - especially those threads which descend into pages and pages and pages of discussing who's presenting the overnight news, and who did the weather on yesterday's yokel news bulletin - but rather than go in to those threads and try to stir things up, I, like most others, steer clear of such turgid discussion and let people get on with what amuses them.

If you've had a píssy day at work, go play with some razor blades instead of complaining that you find something dull when you've invited yourself into the middle of it. Twice.

By all means, go nuts when the trolls unleash themselves into the mainstream and start buggering up perfectly good discussions and debates, but it's pretty clear from the first post in the thread what it's all about, and choosing to read on was your own decision. Why not steer clear of discussions which you know you couldn't give a flying fish about, and stop being a tösser in trying to ruin a perfectly legitimate discussion for everyone else.

No pissy day at work, LDN. Amazingly, I wasn't at work on a Bank Holiday.

I'm just expression my opinion that I believe that you are all over-analysing ('jerking off') over a subject that I will bet cash the programme makers didn't even think about.

It's sad.

If you don't like me expressing my views, then, well ... bite me. If you can't cope with someone coming in and disagreeing with you - which is what I'm doing - then it's a sad day for discussion.

Uncle Bruce is always like this.

He finds something he doesn't like, marches into a thread and says 'oh, you're all so sad, you like to wank over [subject]' and marches out again.

When you tell him to go away he just says 'screw you' or 'grow up' or 'take a hike'...

The best thing to do is ignore him.

Oh dear. Cat - thanks for the vote of confidence.

I'm actually trying, in my usual fashion, to make a point here.

I simply don't think this is something that anyone, beyond the assembled anoraks here, would have noticed.

We're almost going on about this as if Granny Smith would have seen it on the TV and screamed in horror: "My God, that isn't 4:3 safe." Seconds later she would have keeled over having had a heart attack.

I didn't even notice when I watched the show, and it took reading this to find out.

I'm not disinterested, I'm merely amazed there is so much fuss over something that was on screen for barely seconds.

Which I think I made quite clear in my first post. I think you've seen me around here long enough to know that I don't go over-mad on analysis (or even posting) but I did think it was a legitimate observation to post to a TV presentation forum.
