Yes, and ISTR the caption was in their corporate "Jambo" font at the time (that wierd font with all the arrows etc) Not very suitable for a serious news thing.
"Please turn to Sky News for an announcement from Buckingham Palace", ISTR. (Then they dropped all adverts and used Trapdoor as a filler, which is a fantastic show, but entirely off the topic)

I think this website is exactly the right place to post this. It's about television presentation isn't it?!!!

The OP originally posted a topic titled something like 'Ship Sinks' with no sub-heading, and no mention at all about pres in the post. He has since edited it to a different title and pres relevant sub-heading. I agree it is now a suitable post, but first it was just a news report.

Oh - sorry about that. I meant to write about the news alerts. All cleared up now!!!

I remember back in the 90s quite often during Neighbours they'd be a caption advising you of a breaking story, telling you details were coming up at 6pm.

IIRC, it wasn't an aston but instead the picture reduced and continued on a blue background with text at the bottom.

Actually now that you mention it, I remember also.

Well when the Queen Mom died. UKTV Network put up some text at the bottom of the screen saying "Major News Report on BBC One and BBC News24"
