well the national news could have used the standard News 24 graphics, but they chose not to - is this down the the graphics playout system, or just a choice.

I dont think BBC London will give up it's diagonal stripe motief...

N6 does not yet have Viz; thus, is not yet using N24 style animation or design...

And presumably why Breakfast's graphics haven't changed yet?

I thought Breakfast shared the same gallery as the nationals.

Will the regions have standardised opening titles again I wonder?

Excuse my ignorance, but surely then it could just be treated as an "OB" and ran from the N24 gallery!

I wonder if we'll ever see a day again when the BBC relaunches all aspects of it's news output at the same time, rather than changing bits and pieces when they feel like it!

Presumably because at the time the national production team would want to get in the gallery, the N24 crew will be in there! You can't hot-bunk galleries from rolling news to national bulletin!

Does Sky News use this system?

When BBC television news output first went "generic" in 1999/2000, "astons" etc were very standardised indeed, but eventually fell apart (esp. in regional news), to become the current mish-mash.

I'm glad that they're gonna try and standardise it all again, but the cynic in me doubts that it will last many years before falling apart again.

I blame LDN entirely for that. With the stupid rings and black and white titles. And why are regions using the LDN Election music for titles!?

Yes.

As does ITV News, I believe, although not for their astons.
