Some caps of the new look, perhaps someone with capture facilities can upload some better images?

Unfortunately they didn't use any wide shots in the 10.50pm bulletin, but I'm back at my PC now so I can get a few of the more 'exciting' shots tomorrow. In the meantime, here's the shortened titles, and a glimpse at the top of the desk.

Overall I really like it. The titles are good - remind me of the superb 1998 version (see them at The TV Room). I loved them. Also, the desk makes it look a lot better. John MacKay and Stephen Jardine always looked uncomfortable sitting on the rather small sofas with nothing in front of them.

Going by the squares, I doubt Scottish will be changing their blue logo in the near future.

I think it is awful and sort of glad that North Tonight has not had a makeover if it would have been "tacky" like STodays!

The desk looks so out of place....nice new desk....same old bench seats that look like they have been taken out of a 1970's motorway cafe (with wipe easy vinyl)!!

Nice titles though.......they should have kept the relaunch for the new studios.

Even if theyd reapholstered it and painted the studio more it wouldve looked amazing

Could the use of squares and a map of the region possibly be a hint of the new look going to be introduced soon?
I could actually see this adapted to other regions

But the titles I like, the studio I really dont like at all

Presumably that part of the titles is meant to fit in with...

...well for a couple of weeks or so, until ITV News gets new titles. Wink

IMO, the new titles are truly grotesque and the new desk sticks out like a sore thumb. Scotland Today's colour scheme is vile - purples in the background with a bright orangey, red desk and dark blue opening titles. Please give this news programme the 'ITV' look!!

Is the desk getting even red-er??? It looks much better now.
I wonder if the ones sacked are John Mackay and Sarah Heaney, because they haven't presented for a while now???

If Sarah or John had been sacked, I would be sorry for them.

Anyone who has followed my posts in the past know that I am not a Sarah fan, but I would feel sad for her; perhaps a move to showbiz reporter or something? She is very popular with viewers!! Afterall, us blonde bombshells must stick together!

As for John, I would be extremely miffed, as he is the best presenter on the show. I have a soft spot for Shereen, and think that she is "Scotland Today" being their since 1987, but Mr Mackay is an excellent anchorman.

I would have thought Louise and Stephen would be the ones whose jacket would be on a shogally nail (forgive my spelling)

Next week may shed some light on this. I was going to say the title music is growing on me, yet the jury is still out there. However, the graphics are pure mince!!

They are truly awful!!!!!

Are Scottish T.V. intentionally trying to damage their own image by using a mish-mash of brands and colours?

The studio is very similar to the previous but now has a ghastly desk plonked in the middle.

I wonder if this is only a temporary change when they wil unleash the proper re-brand on the 16th? They could easily change the colour of that desk?

Why couldn;t they use the generic ITV news studios? It would look MUCH MUCH better than that! It's almost laughable!
