Does anyone remember the little 'coffee table' ST used before the revamp? I think the new desk is the little table on a raised platform with a bit of red plastic round it?

"CHEAPO" sums this minor of all minor revamps.

The music is okay; but those graphics are a mess. The millennium titles were hardly spectacular, but seemed professional and simple. This is just a "pick n'mix" of other ideas.

As for the notion that they are making do until 16/1/06; well if that is the plan I definately think that the high heed yins need shot! For that would be the biggest waste of money - having one set for only TWO weeks! Yet, I would not rule it out, anything goes at Cowcadden nowadays.

As for who is getting the chop, I would not rule anyone out. How many presenters are there - five, six? If three are to go that would only leave two or three? Those most established reporters, such as, Bernard Ponsonby, Dave Cowan, Nicola Kane etc should be safe, but again I would not rule them out - either! A rollercoaster for all of them - I am sure.

No i wasnt suggesting total abandonment i was stating there may be a lick of red paint in the studio. But i do doubt that.

It would have made more sense to leave it alone and go for a MAJOR relaunch when they move to the new building!

Mind you......when Grampian moved North Tonight only got a tweek....same colours...new desk etc. On saying that the last NT set was fantastic!

Any word yet on the promised NT makeover??

Not that I am aware off.

I think I would wait until Scottish TV relocate from Cowcaddens to Pacific Quay. It may well mean a rehaul of Scottish and Grampian's identity; thus a modified look for Scotland Today and North Tonight.

It may also mark the new look shows - split into the two areas. I am just thinking, would they call the Dundee-based show "North Tonight South"? That would be funny.

What about just NORTH TONIGHT DUNDEE/NORTH TONIGHT INVERNESS or whatever

If the show was just for Dundee or Inverness - yes. Sadly, the people of Inverness or the Highlands will not find out, as they do not get an opt out. It is only Aberdeen and Dundee based shows that are being proposed. It would seem this is being done population and not geography wise.

I do like this new look, far better than the last look, as there seems to be proper Opening Titles this time, plus the Theme tune sounds great, better than it's English and Welsh counterparts IMO.

Shame no-one has told SMG to change the Endcap to (C) MMVI Laughing

Well i am surprised nobody has mentioned but in todays sunday mail it has been revealed sarah heany has quit scottish television to move to london and set up home with her family in the capital. It is widely known sarah has always had network ambitions and capabilities and i have heard one or two rummors that she is moving to gmtv full time. I have also heard that she wont be the last person to go at the minute....

Sunday Mail today claimed Sarah Heaney has taken Vol Redundency to be with her husband in London. It also claims she will be taking a break from TV!

Sad Day! It mean the likes of Louise White will not lose their jobs!
