Now
he
was a great presenter, wasn't he? Shame he left Meridian Tonight. He was synonomous with TVS/Meridian news in the South East and did pop up on one or two networked programmes for TVS. It was always worth watching Coast to Coast even if just for his banter with Ron Lobeck!
So, does anyone have any ideas on who's going to replace Geoff at Meridian South-East?
I think it should be Jeff Moody - a recent recruit and a great personality. He has filled in on the sport recently and looks like he belongs in the studio.
Aww, that's sad! That logo has always been my favourite, and for some reason it brings back great memories for me.
I was watching Meridian Tonight (South) the other day, and was very pleasantly surprised to see *TWO* stories centred around two of the nearest towns to where I live. Not only that, but I was being told the news by two of the people I trust most to inform me - Fred Dineage and Debbie Thrower. Meridian Tonight has always been one of the best regional news programmes (it always gets around twice as many viewers as South Today, and it is recognised by ITV as being in its top three most successful regional news programmes), but sadly it is to be torn to shreds by this latest development. You can read more about it here.
It has been announced by the local press that
Phil Hornby
(ex-TVS and Meridian Political Editor) will be filling the shoes of Geoff Clark at Meridian. (I didn't realise that he was at Midlands Today for a bit as well).
EDIT:
Just realised that this was already in another thread - sorry.
According to this weekend's
Kent on Sunday
, Kaddy-Lee Preston is taking over from Paul Ross as presenter of Inside Out South-East.
