Just watching the six, and as they panned round the crowd, some woman couldn't stop shouting 'OH MY GOD!!! OH MY GOD!!!' - I mean, what a thing to say! Rolling Eyes

1) She's over excited
2) As you said, not the best thing to say!

So what's his health like? Is it good or should I keep hold of the recent editorial guidelines to save me printing them out again?

Well, he's seventy-eight, well past his three score years and ten, so it's anybody's guess.

I don't know if 'im upstairs doesn't approve of the choice, but, round here, we had a huge flash of lightning and an enormous rumble of thunder within seconds of the announcement.

On the other hand, he could have a giant party popper up there. Is it raining streamers?

Well John Paul I died after only 33 days, and the Roman Catholic explanation for that was that they'd chosen the wrong man, and God had shown them the error of their ways. So if he doesn't approve, we should know within a few weeks.

I'm just not sure about this man. Hasn't he described other religions as "defective"?

Has anyone managed to capture them breaking the news on the news channels?

It's a poor show that ITV haven't got a correspondent of their own in Rome at the moment.

bbc.co.uk were streaming BBC WORLD coverage (as opposed to bbc news branded coverage that appears on world too) with Brian Hanrahan, until 8 (presumably from 7pm), leading into The World. Between the end of Brian Hanrahan and the start of The World, we got lovely shots of the host (can't recall name, same lady who interviewed Frank Gardener for Hardtalk) doing her makeup and checking it was ok. They eventually cut the audio, and moved to a still of the chimney (the stillness could have been my connection)...the lengths they go to stop us seeing adverts...
