BBC 1 have stuck with CBBC and Newsround, announcing the election of the new pope. Will ITV break into Paul O'Grady?

Well there in a break at the moment and nothing so far...

Probably when they elect who the new Pope is.

five news has just come on air, perfect timing again for covering this event. News24 on BBC 2, Paul O'Grady & Richard & Judy on ITV & C4 respectively.

Richard and Judy went to Jon Snow at Channel 4 News when the news was breaking. The first analogue station to report it.

RE: Five News - they had perfect timing when John Paul II died too with a bulletin schedule for a couple of minutes after the news was announced and so were the first terrestrial broadcaster to get the news on air.

Presuming BBC One will join BBC News 24 shortly? or will they still show Neighbours? - at least expecting something to say about the news.

Neighbours on BBC1 as normal.

Loved the way that Mike Wooldridge etc were down the pub when the smoke started coming out and so had to run down to St Peters Square...
