Good Midlands Today tonight with Amy Cole presenting again and all this week and tonight Nick Owen being on the sofa not presenting but as a guest for Children in Need where Shefali was given bunny ears to wear by Nick Laughing .
Also good to see Michael Collie make a rare appearance presenting this morning/lunchtime rather than just bank holidays.

ITV News Central currently going out in the West Midlands with the East Midlands studio background. It’s very dark and bare!

Yasmin Bodalbhai's first evening news on ITV News Central this evening.

And the tree will be up on Monday. Of course it's already looking significantly un-christmassy without the ice rink and big wheel on the backdrop this year.

Oh and Emma Jesson has made a welcome return to the forecasts this weekend. Emma's 'bye bye' still fills me with a warm fuzzy feeling... unlike Des's tedious random rambles.

She must be busy as she's doing all her usual northern regions as well this weekend. That'll be 7 or 8 different forecasts to do x 3 per day.

Emma also did the forecasts for ITV London today.

There's only one forecast broadcast at the weekend per day. This gets broadcast within the one daily bulletin and repeated within the regional weather update after the late evening news.

Therefore she's had to do Granada, Border, Tyne Tees, YTV, Central West, Central East and London. Therefore she had 6 short forecasts.

No this is not true. The lunchtime weather duration is 1min all in and the late weather duration is 1min30 all in, so running the same recording simply doesn't work.

Common sense also says why would you run a forecast that mentions, for example, snow coming on Saturday Afternoon and then repeat it early evening and late at night when it's old news?

I think you might be confused with the fact that each individual recording gets done in one recording session rather than at different points in the day perhaps?

Yes I'm not aware of any forecasts being repeated on ITV (except for all the regional ones on GMB being the same one each time).

On that note, the Sunday shift will have even more forecasts to do, as they have to record all the GMB forecasts for next morning as well.

The forecast within the Saturday teatime bulletin on Central yesterday was the exact same forecast that was shown after the late news. Mainly because they focussed on the forecast post-midnight and into Sunday.

Emma and James Wright did regional forecasts yesterday tea time, with Amanda Houston doing both national and regional instead of James on the lunchtime. Today, three regional weather presenters and national presenter too, however.

So by the sounds of it they were short staffed yesterday so cut back on some versions and covered with 3 instead of 4. I think there would normally be 3 regional presenters and a national one at weekends.
