Indeed ServerPlay replaced Janice which I think only Norwich had (possibly The Mailbox at first?). ServerLoad is used at the hub to get stuff into the server. Did Quantel ever have a load application?

The rostrum does need an iron! Those parcans have been there for years, since the old newsroom view was in use. In the winter months the blinds were closed and the parcans had red gels over them, illuminating the back wall of the newsroom a strange red. However they were almost drowned out by the houselights, ruining the effect they were trying to achieve.

I imagine in this temporary set they're just trying to liven up what is essentially a dull window frame, which overlooks the canalside.

Also the monitor displaying the looped graphic is one of the ones removed from the set. In the images of the temporary set being set up it's a naff old television - clearly removed it from the studio and mounted it.

Lovely backdrop of a beige wall on tonight's late bulletin. Presumably the lighting on the canal-side wasn't good enough at night?

EDIT: Oh, its the same set, just with the blinds pulled down.

You'd just get a horrible reflection of a long office space and cameras, they have used the night time view in the past but it isn't great.

That looks horrendous.

Of course it may not be temporary at all, it could be the latest in regional news set design...
