Meridian's Simon Parkin doing the Central Weather today for the first time as far as I believe?

Just as I can't see an East Midlands Today thread, a quick question - how long have they had a separate set for the 1330/2225 editions? Flicked past on Sky last week to find the presenter stood up in a smaller area with a screen.

What is the table about that they use? Surely it should be lower so that it doesn't obscure part of the screen.

The picture quality on Sky is dreadful, so I'm guessing Central aren't broadcasting their regional news in HD.

I have it on very good authority that ITV News Central will be broadcast in HD before the end of the year - possibly end of November.

Issues with Central East tonight. Not sure on the exact problem but they must have switched to West as the Birmingham skyline turned into a Newsroom backdrop and an apology from Matt at the end of the programme.

East Midlands Today has started using an alternative newsroom backdrop now more of a newsroom shot. Not sure whether this is just for the weekend or if it is now all week.

Looks a lot better, but the picture quality of that backdrop display is still awful - the fuzzy picture is very obvious on any shot that isn't as wide as that one.

The set has been patched up with new bits over the years but it's well overdue a proper revamp. The backdrop display is the oldest part, it's been there 11 years!

Enjoyed ITV Central News West's Evening programme tonight (as a proud Brummie it's great to see the new New Street Station gaining plenty of coverage and praise) but where was the other News (they mentioned the Sport will be on the late bulletin)? Was nice to see a full 30 minutes Regional News programme dedicated to the West of the Central region though...guess the East got a full programme too. Nice to see slightly amended titles too.

This is the sort of interesting Regional programme that should have been a special AWAY from the Regional News, not replacing it totally.

What did the BBC do with their Midlands Today programme?

How did the titles differ? Has anyone got any caps that they'd wish to share...I'd be really grateful and interested to see how the titles changed

It's nice to see them adapte the template, there's been a few special programs across the ITV regions that have used generic titles. Think it just makes it a lot nicer when-if they have a special program, they change the titles too

Central are the regions graphics hub, so it's probably easier for them to change their titles than most others!
