Shame. Surely if they placed the plasmas in portrait and filmed the background in portrait then they could minimise the black bars? Or am I thinking too much in simple terms?

You can see a CGI render of it on the middle piece of A3 paper? Zoom in enough and you can make out the ugly black bars! About time Central got a new set, theirs is the oldest of these sets throughout the regions! 10 years old

Does anyone think they would have used diffused LEDscreens as the windows? And reduce the side 'windows' to the grey wall? Surely it wouldn't have been that more expensive than buying 5 big screens that creates a letterbox effect?
(A little like the X Factor Audition room from 2013 with the LED windows)
