My apologies, does anyone have any screenshots from tonight’s programme please?. Midlands today has the BT Tower in the backdrop I recall

I'm pretty sure that the CGI newsrooms for Midlands Today and East Midlands Today are identical (apart from the few bits of genuine outdoor footage in the very background "windows" being of Birmingham/Nottingham respectively, for obvious reasons).

In the era of the projection screen "window", Central News (East) dabbled with both Trent Bridge and Market Square backdrops.

Central double headed by Sameena and Bob for the first time tonight. Though it didn’t get referenced by them in the West Mids, and the set has been extended a little so Steve can stand by the Sports screen at a social distance from Bob.

And Midlands Today have a new backdrop today. In fact... it’s the same backdrop just shifted left so it’s more of a newsroom view with the ‘windows’ shifted out of the main shot. Does look a lot better and cleaner IMO.

Central don’t have a new backdrop. It’s still of the Library of Birmingham. Though the main presenter shots now it’s double headed now have the Hyatt Regency hotel and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery in the shots.

The backdrop is so far removed from what Centenary Square looks like nowadays. The whole of it has been repaved with water features, and the front of Symphony Hall has been cut off.

ITV News Central just now had East Midlands going out in the West, before cutting mid way through to West Mids bulletin about a minute in.
