Whats happened to the building in Newbury? and does anybody know the plans for the old SE studio?

No idea about what happened to Newbury - but the "Newbury" show had been coming from a second studio in Northam (Southampton) for quite a while prior to the opening of the 3 studio complex at Whiteley. Not sure if the operation is still based in the same location in Newbury with a mothballed studio, or if they have relocated to a smaller location.

The news operation in the South East has relocated to the old TVS Newsroom, now on the Vintners Park site of Maidstone Studios. I doubt the old New Hythe premises will be sold on as a studio - so I'd expect they'll either be demolished or modified for other purposes?

The New Hythe building is now 'to let', described as a 10,000 square foot industrial unit. Up until last week there appeared to be staff still working there but this week only a security guard appears to be about. All of the Meridian signage is still up together with the satellite dishes over the entrance and so are the direction signs from the A228!

SOUND problems - can anyone tell me why Meridian News is 'hollow' in sound? Tonights edition and many previous have been affected.
Also, there seems to be light 'blips' of sound missing sometimes, for example on studio scenes where Fred is saying something.

The sound on reporters' voiceovers on packages made at Whiteley seems to be a bit dodgy too.

Just out of interest, who's the property agent on the sign??

The weather has had problems today, Gemma's voice on the Lunchtime bulletin today was awful, wasn't brilliant on Meridian Tonight either.

BTW I see you are a Forester, whereabouts exactly?

Yesterday afternoon (Tuesday), I noticed that the original Meridian logo was still present on the opening weather sponsorship sequence on the 3pm bulletin, but on the 6pm programme, is was covered up for the first time, and thus it remains. It's such a shame, as they appeared to be getting away with it!

Note that on some of the sequences, you can actually see the spikes from the original logo poking through, though I believe that somebody has already pointed that out.

Yes it is shoddily done, the spikes can be seen poking out because the ITV Meridian logo is a couple of pixels shorter than the Meridian TV Logo. Sad to see the sun go and now they've extended the Sea France advert as well... Confused

I think they left the microphones at Northam and they just shout a lot!

Looking forward to the Christmas special edition of Meridian Tonight South East this evening which is coming live from the South East!! Phil Hornby has mentioned it, the last couple of evenings, that they would be live from Kent!
Funny... the programme was always live from Kent a few weeks ago.

Noticed that the titles are now correct on the SE edition rather than showing the South bit of the map at the end of the titles.
