Did'nt Merdian South win this award each year for a while sometime ago now ?

I think the effort Merdian SE went to last year with their many many OB's even to France etc were excellent, shame that barely anyone watches...of course I had an ulteria motive myself for doing so Very Happy

With the 2009 cut backs almost certainly going to happen this will be the last year of them doing anything similar Sad

SET's Weather graphics packed up yet again leaving a static image of Dover for Michael Fish to present against.

How many times has this happened with them now? Wink

I wonder if this is why last night's programme had Alex Deakin from London instead?

They seem to have been opting to London a lot in recent months, it's putting Kaddy out of a job (well she does Inside Out but that's beside the point).

I presume their weather software is bugged and temperamental - they're probably on a list waiting for an engineer to sort it all out.

They aren't "opting to London" - they are getting the BBC Weather Centre at TV Centre to record (I think) a specific bulletin for them. This is not an opt.

Well yeah, i'm just generalising when saying opt.

Anyway, Meridian SE have an exclusive interview with the stars of ITV's new drama Rock Rivals - i'd be interested to know how this passes as local news but still.

Again, the mentality of sending Iain McBride to do an outside broadcast in the bad weather.

He's certainly annoyed - doesn't help that people are tuning up instruments in the background! Laughing

No mention of the virtual Geoff and Bev? It turned what could have been just a boring report about Second Life in to a boring report about Second Life with an interesting introduction. Well done to whoever it was that bothered to do these graphics.

Did anyone see the messy edition of South East Today at 6:30pm?

At the start of the show, the video(s) for the pre-titles headlines wouldn't play then the titles failed part-way through leaving Beverley Thompson to very slowly intruduce the first report. There was then a second or two of dead air before the report appeared.

Thats what you would have seen if you were watching on TV anyway, however they have edited the online version. The online version starts just as the titles had failed. We still get the dead air though.

Later on, (at around 12:40 in the online version) the reporter makes a mess of the live handback to the studio and we see her raise her eyes to the heavens. This is a more obvious edit, In the online version the eye rasing has been completely removed.

Why would someone take the time to do this?
