Alas the Henley relay being of Crystal Palace rather than Hannington.
It was always a slight anomaly to me that Henley-on-Thames, being in Oxfordshire, had a relay of CP and not Beckley (Oxford), so not only did it get London (and previously South East) TV opts, it receives Radio Berkshire via a relay and not Radio Oxford.
I'm not sure a good enough UHF signal was available at the site from Beckley, to enable it use that as the parent ? Also of course when it was built in the 70s, Beckley carried ATV Midlands, so that would have been totally bizarre for Henley (though nothing to stop BBC and ITV being fed from different parents back then, and there are plenty of examples of that.
As far as radio is concerned, Radio Berkshire has a wider editorial area than the (ex) county itself, and its main transmitter is in Hampshire anyway ! The Henley FM Tx (for BBC and Heart (210-FM in old money)) is designed to serve a wider area than just the town, it serves Marlow (in Bucks) and the area to the east of Reading up to Maidenhead. I think both BBC Berks and Heart are off air fed from Broad St Mall Tx in the centre of Reading, (and not Hannington, which is in more or less the same direction from there)
