Interesting. I thought the national weather only went out on HD as a filler during the regional headlines?
Isn't the 20:00hrs national weather the Net1 sustaining feed ? The BBC 1HD channel effectively sits back, ( normally for opts the Red Screen of Death pops up)
Reading the above posts, looks as if Network BBC1 lost video for the national heads, and weather, this confused some regions but not all of them ?
All BBC English regions receive Net 1 as an SD feed. The three BBC nations receive Net 1 in HD, along with routable/selectable clean feeds from London in HD
All the BBC English regions receive Net 1 in SD only. The three nations receive it in HD, along with a choice of routeable clean feeds from London
Presumably the nations were using studio clean feed, ( and Scotland soon cut to it?)
Is Net 1 HD - where the regions downgrade to SD?
Net 1 is the core BBC 1 feed that is continuously fed to the English regions, as an SD sustaining service,
it also forms the basis of BBC 1 HD as seen in England. It starts life in native HD, but both Net 1 and BBC 1 HD differ. During most regional opts, Net 1 carries the BBC News Channel, BBC 1 HD carries the infamous red caption directing the viewer to their local version of BBC 1 SD for the regional news.
However, during the short 20:00 hrs sequence of national and regional headlines, both Net 1 and BBC 1 HD carry a national weather forecast during the regional opt slot (of about 30 seconds),
